Welcome to Luka Lesson’s
HEARTH
Agapi & Other Kinds of Love at the Art Gallery of NSW
In ancient times, we gathered around fires to share our stories.
Today, our stories still need a hearth — where our creative flames can burn bright together.
Like the flame that once burned for the goddess of the hearth: Hestia, we need to gather around the fires where stories can live and breathe. Where poetry becomes more than words on a page - it becomes a living flame, passed from hand to hand.
Hi, I’m Luka. And I used to see my poetry as a Molotov cocktail, meant to be thrown at the system. And some days, it still is. But over time, I've learned that the most revolutionary act can be creating a space where people gather, where stories are shared, where vulnerability becomes strength - where we crack open in public together, fostering connection rather than separation.
For 20 years, I've watched what happens when people circle around poetry - in workshops, at festivals, in schools, and around actual fires. Magic happens when we create these spaces of authentic connection.
HEARTH is a place where my music, poetry, writing courses and community combine.
All of my works now live in one central fireplace.
HEARTH is my answer to a burning question: How can I create a portable fire that burns just as bright as the ones our ancestors gathered around? How can I bring this flame to everyone, everywhere?
Step into our fire circle and find:
~ A library of living poems
~ Audio landscapes where Ancient Greece meets modern beats
~ Daily writing prompts that spark the inner fire
~ Multiple creative courses, with over 30 workshops and prompts to fan your artistic flames
~ Monthly HEARTH [LIVE] gatherings where we stoke our collective creative fire 🔥
~ First sparks of my new work before it reaches the wider world
~ A poet's fire in your pocket, accessible anywhere, anytime
~ New poetry and workshop additions monthly
Take your writing from page to stage, with a little help from someone who already has.
In a world that often feels emptied of meaning - where we scroll endlessly through feeds, and lose ourselves in the machinery of modern life - poetry remains a radical act of remembering. Remembering that we are human. Remembering that our stories matter. Remembering that beneath all our chasing of acceptance and corporate masks, we are still creatures who need to gather around fires and share our truths.

“An induction into the living magic of poetry” — HEARTH Member
Poetry isn't just about writing pretty words; it's about turning our wounds into doorways that others can walk through. It's about finding meaning in a society that often feels meaningless, about creating connections in a world that keeps pushing us apart. When we write, when we share, we're doing more than making art - we're lighting fires in the darkness, creating spaces where healing can begin, where authenticity can flourish, where the raw and real parts of ourselves can be welcomed home.

This is why HEARTH exists - not just as a platform, but as a rebellion against meaninglessness, a portable campfire where we can gather to remember what matters: our stories, our connections, our shared humanity.

Both - schools and individuals can subscribe and have access to different sections of the platforms, this is mostly so students and their poems are kept same from public scrutiny as well as swearing and things of a more mature nature being deleted from school access. School subscriptions are slightly higher than individual subscriptions to reflect the amount of students accessing the platform compared to one individual.
